Call Minority Students to take up Civil Services and Competitive Exams : India

Mysuru, KARNATAKA :

Apart from pursuing Engineering, Medical and other professional courses, Minority communities students should make serious attempts to clear civil services and other competitive exams’, opined Masood Foujdar, Chairman, Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation (KMDC).

Speaking at the day long pre-approved interest free education loan camp for minority students organised by the KMDC at St. Philomena’s College, Bannimantap here yesterday, Foujdar said educational loan under the KMDC’s Arivu (Education Loan) scheme will be pre-sanctioned to the candidates who are appearing for Common Entrance Test (CET) as per the gradation list.

The candidates can select any seat through KEA, KRLM, COMED-K with maximum loan amount of Rs. 50,000 per annum, he said and added that this is an interest free loan being disbursed under KMDC’s Arivu scheme.

Calling upon candidates belonging to religious minorities viz., Muslim, Christian, Jain, Buddhist, Sikh and Parsi who are appearing for CET to be conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) to make best use of the scheme, he gave a brief on the KMDC’s other schemes such as ‘Swavalambana’ margin money loan and subsidy scheme, Ganga Kalyana scheme Shramashakthi loan scheme, land purchase scheme, micro loan with subsidy scheme, site purchase cum home loans interest subsidy scheme etc.,

Arif Ahmed Mehakari, Chairman, District Wakf Consultative Committee, Mysuru District, Prof Syed Akheel Ahmed, former V-C of Yenepoya University, Puttaraju, Distrcit Manager KMDC, Dr. Ifteqar Ahmed, Medical Director Al-Ansar Hospital, Mysuru, former Mayor Ayub Khan, Suresh Kumar Jain, Congress leader Akram and others were present.

CET educators from Mysuru District Nayaz Pasha, S.K. Govindaraju, Diwakar, apprised the participants on Arivu scheme.

More than 400 students belonging to religious minorities who are appearing for CET, COMED-K etc., took part.
