“Exploring the truth is vital for recording history,” opined Women and Child Welfare and Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree. She was speaking at the valedictory of a State-level workshop for SC/ST research students on ‘Writing History,’ organised jointly by Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and the State Archives Department, at Cauvery auditorium, KSOU campus, Muktagangotri, this morning.
Noting that writing history is not an easy task and is full of challenges, Umashree stressed on the need for writing history with supporting documents and evidences.
Observing that exploring the truth is the essence of history, the Minister said that history researchers should always look at recording history in the most credible manner.
She also said that writing history with true facts, will leave no scope for distortion of history and called upon the research students to utilise the most effective tools for exploring history and come up with true facts.
