Marathon for educating economically weak girls

The second edition of the Mahindra World City (MWC) Marathon in aid of ‘Nanhi Kali’ was held at Mahindra World City,  Chennai. The primary objective of Nanhi Kali, an NGO, is to provide quality education to girls from economically weak families.

The event was held in partnership with Depuy Synthes Institute, a Johnson & Johnson Group company, which has set up its medical education and research campus within Mahindra World City, dedicated to skill enhancement of healthcare professionals in orthopaedics and neuroscience.

Over 750 people including companies, residents and students within Mahindra World City and Chennaiites participated in this event which took place recently.

The proceeds from the marathon will be contributed to the Nanhi Kali NGO which is jointly managed by the Naandi Foundation and the KC Mahindra Education Trust. The project provides academic, material and social support that allows a girl child to access quality education to attend school with dignity and reduces the chances of her dropping out.
