Belle church aided Higher Primary School organized free notebooks, uniforms and scholarship distribution programme at the leadership of alma mater and philanthropists, as part of centenary celebrations here recently.
The free notebooks and uniforms were distributed to all 230 students in the presence of Udupi block education officer S Vasant Shetty.  Besides, scholarship worth Rs 25,000 contributed by bellevision UAE was distributed to the talented students at the occasion.
The School correspondent Fr Joswy Fernandes presided the function.
Fr Joswy felicitated Lilly Mathias who has donated computer to the School office.

Bellevision – UAE founder president and alumnus Wilfred Menezes was the chief guest distributed the scholarships to the talented students and assured support for the school in the future too.
Speaking on the occasion, the alma mater president and Belle gram panchayat president Rajendra Shetty sought the help of alma mater to celebrate the centenary in a grand manner and also to improve infrastructure at the school.

ZP member Ida Gilbert D’Souza urged alma mater to join hands in celebrating centenary of their school, since it will be an occasion for reunion.

The school betterment Committee president Gerald Fernandes, Belle parish council vice president A K Alva, Yedmer School headmaster Vivekanand Shetty, the local medical practitioner Dr H B Shetty, group resource person Khurshida were present at the dais.

The school headmaster Sylvester Mathias welcomed the gathering.  Sr Irene Veigas compered the programme.  The teacher Narasimha Nayak proposed vote of thanks.
