The European Union has decided to provide 11 higher education scholarships to Sri Lanka. They will be provided under the Erasmus Mundus programme for the academic year 2013/2014.

A media release issued by the EU says that six students from the University of Moratuwa were among selected, with others being from the University of Colombo and Peradeniya.

All candidates have applied for technical disciplines and will received joint degrees in subjects such as environmental sciences, flood management, theoretical chemistry and in several other topics.
