Admissions for 1,358 children provided: Karnataka, India

The Right To Education act to be implemented from this academic year, 1,358 children are provided admission for first standard at unaided schools in the district under reservation of 25 per cent of seats.
Excluding minority schools, list of government and private schools is published.
District public education department has invited applications for admission at unaided schools under 25 per cent quota.

Applications could be submitted till May 25.

In 108 unaided schools of district, according to fixed ratio, 411 children belonging to SC, 78 of ST and 869 is distributed among OBC, destitute and special children.

Expenditure

Government has instructed the education department to meet the expenditure of education of these kids.

Under the Right To Education act, poor children would be benefitted with education. Students have to be given admission to first standard under the said ratio.

But in many unaided schools of district the admission process is completed for this academic year and there are chances of confusions to develop.

Complain

Parents complain of many incidents of donation, for which they urge deputy director of district public education department to conduct inquiry and take strict action, which is not taken untill now despite of earlier complaints.

They had put forward their complaint even during the meeting of office bearers of educational institutions held recently.
