Internships To Teach English Abroad Continue All Year Round In India

English teaching courses in India are set to be available all year round, it was announced today.

ESL Starter will be giving opportunities to aspiring teachers to gain vital classroom experience all year round.

The company encourages student teachers to travel the world and gain as much experience as possible – a positive message as teaching jobs are comparatively scarce in the UK. The ESL Starter four month internship in India now has ongoing start dates, maximising the amount of student places on the course.

The primary aim of the programme is to promote cultural exchange and English learning in the Indian schools. All of the ESL Starter courses are designed to benefit the local communities whilst providing candidates with the chance to teach English abroad.

The Indian placements are located throughout the Kerala Province on the country’s stunning West Coast. Kerala is renowned for its rich culture, hospitality, blissful beaches and picturesque countryside – making it a paradise for tourism. The chance to teach English in the area is an amazing prospect for determined young teachers.

On top of the invaluable classroom experience and once in a lifetime journey – candidates will be fully looked after throughout the duration of their four month stay. The volunteers will be greeted by a local guide who will assist in their orientation of the area. Then it is time to hit the beach for a two day holiday before the first class – a great way to break the ice with fellow teachers.

Full accommodation is provided as well as meals. Airport transfers in India are covered too – everything is taken care of so the student can focus on teaching. It is an amazing opportunity as one recent graduate suggested:

‘This has been a truly unforgettable experience. The welcome I received from the local people in Kerala was so warm and friendly! In four months, I’ve seen Delhi, Bombay and Goa – which are places I’d always dreamed of visiting. I would strongly recommend this teaching program to anybody!’

ESL Starter run similar paid courses to teach English in China and many other locations but this internship in India seems to provide teachers with more value than just money.
A spokesperson for ESL Starter commented:

‘We are offering this program to graduates and gap year students as an opportunity to experience teaching English overseas without committing to a long term contract. We take care of flight arrangements, airport transfers and orientation so that candidates can enjoy India and quickly adjust to life in Kerala!

‘Interns will be treated like celebrities by the local people in Kerala who are famed for their hospitality towards foreigners.’

Interns will receive a certificate upon course completion which can then be used to boost their CVs and hopefully, land them a job back home in the UK. For those who want to continue teaching overseas, ESL Starter offer plenty of different courses including opportunities to teach English in South Korea.
