‘150,000 youths trained under Hunarmand Programme’: Pakistan

Syed Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani, younger brother of Prime Minister and in-charge of his camp office has said that more than 1,50,000 youths were trained under Prime Minister’s Hunarmand Pakistan Programme which are now a part of national human resource.He was delivering his speech at the meeting of executive committee of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry chaired by Khawaja Muhammad Hussain its acting president.

Syed Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani said that present government had launched a number of programmes of self-employment, skilled labour and to develop the neglected and remote areas of Pakistan.

He said that present government had established National Vocational and Technical Training Commission to impart training to youths so that they could serve in Pakistan and abroad as skilled worker.

He said that Pakistan was facing internal and external threats but present regime was facing these challenges bravely.

Devastation of floods, chronic financial problems and geo-strategic national security and terrorism are some major problems, which had affected the prosperity of the nation and create obstacles in the way of development.

He admitted that government could not pay proper attention towards technical education.

He said that President, Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had taken a number measures for the uplift of downtrodden people neglected for the last six decades.

He said that Pakistan was enriched with ample natural resources besides human resources.

He said that more than 60 percent population in Pakistan is of youth while 75 million people are of one to 14 year age.

97 million people are of 15 to 64 years of age.

He informed that Prime Minister had established a sub-office of Tavtec in Multan to promote the Industrial management.

Khawaja Muhammad Yousaf said that Yousuf Raza Gilani had changed the destiny of Multan city which is called “Madina-tul-Aulia” and it is the ancient city of the Asia.

People of Multan would not forget his service for the development of Multan city.

Khawaja Muhammad Hussain, acting president of MCCI said that chamber had completed four projects of blue pottery, camel skin art, mud-pottery and embroidery under Prime Minister’s Programme “Aik Hunar Aik Nagar”

Navtec’s Deputy Director, Dr Mubashar Mushtaq Daha told that a number of foreign countries were providing technical and financial assistance to launch the programmes.

He said that seven centres of excellence were functioning in the country under the control of Tavtec.

Governor Punjab’s advisor for trade, Sheikh Saqib Ishrat, Chief Executive of National Productivity organisation Khawaja Muhammad Yousaf, Mian Iqbal Ahsan, Mirza Ali Ahmed and Khurram Javed Secretary Generalof MCCI were also present on the occasion.
