RUDSETI to conduct training programmes : India

Kerala :

Rural Development and Self-Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI) at Kanhirangad near Taliparamba here will conduct 30 training programmes in 2016-17 which are expected to help an estimated 780 unemployed youth in the region.

This was announced by K.N. Janardhana, Director of the National Centre for Excellence of RSETIs, Bengaluru, on Wednesday.

Model institute

Releasing the annual training programme calendar of RUDSETI Kannur for 2016-17 at a function at the institute here on Wednesday, he informed that as per the grading conducted by the Union Ministry of Rural Development during last year, RUDSETI Kannur is one of the excellent institutes in the country and is a model institute in Kerala.

It has bagged AA grade, he said.

Mr. Janardhana also said that 583 RUDSETI type institutes are functioning in the country supported by 37 public sector banks.

He visited the institute along with Kishore Kumar, State Director of RSETIs, on Wednesday.

Mr. Janardhana also interacted with the students of ongoing fashion designing batch.

During the interaction he stressed that the purpose and objectives of this training institute is to provide self-employment training to the unemployed.

Up to March 2016, RUDSETI Kannur has conducted 629 self-employment training programmes benefiting 20,409 unemployed youth in this area.

Self-employment

Out of this, 14,672 trained candidates were settled by starting self-employment ventures.

RUDSETI Kannur Director P.V. Surendran was also present at the function.
