Co-operative society to adopt 35 children affected with HIV for a year : India

The city-based Shree Tirupati Multi-purpose Souhard Sahakari Limited has come forward to adopt children affected with HIV sheltered with Nandan Makkal Dham (NMD), a non-government charitable organisation at Sadashiv Nagar in Belagavi.

According to Chairman of the co-operative society, Manjunath Bhute on Monday, there are 35 HIV affected children under the care of NMD, which was finding it difficult to provide adequate food and nutrition to the children due to paucity of funds. Hence, the board of the co-operative society decided to do its bit and adopt all the 35 children for one year from Tuesday (April 14).

He said the NMD would be provided with all food grains, vegetables, biscuits, edible and hair oils, fruits, eggs and chicken, soaps and detergents, etc. for twelve months. A function to mark the adoption ceremony would be held at Dhashabhuja Vinayak Mandir at Ansurkar Galli in the city on Tuesday afternoon he said.
