ANU launches online courses for students : India

The ANU in partnership with Schoolguru Eduserve Pvt Ltd, an academic service firm based in Mumbai, is offering 16 online courses with 30 programmes in first phase through the Centre for Online programmes

Higher Education is witnessing sweeping changes and more number of professionals are now opting for online learning.

Acharya Nagarjuna University is one of the first State universities to tap into Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools and has launched online programmes in under graduation and post graduation levels.

The ANU in partnership with Schoolguru Eduserve Pvt Ltd, an academic service firm based in Mumbai, is offering 16 online courses with 30 programmes in first phase through the Centre for Online programmes.

Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University K. Viyanna Rao, who launched the online academic programme on Tuesday, said that the launch marks a new chapter in the digital learning age.

“We will provide the students the complete course material, replete with video lectures, audio books, textual study material and animated content created by experienced professors and industry experts. Students who have registered for the programmes will have a truly interactive learning experience,’’ Professor K.V. Rao said.

Each student would be provided with a user ID and password and could access personalised course pages on the university learning management system, he said.

Mobile interface

Taking a step ahead, the ANU is also launching mobile interface which could be downloaded by the students on their smart phones. Once the student downloads the content, he would be able to access the information without internet connectivity.

Director of International Cell V. Chandrasekhara Rao said that ANU was also launching online examination system, where in the examinations, assignments, and evaluation would be done online.

Director of Schoolguru Anil Bhatt said that the firm has been creating the content on ERP with integrated learning management system and mobile applications. For details one can log into www.anuonline.ac.in.
