28 BASE students qualify for KVPY fellowship : India

Once again the students of BASE bring outstanding results in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) examination 2013, a Government of India initiative to encourage students of Basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to take up research careers. 28 students from BASE have qualified in the stage 2 examinations and are eligible for the fellowship. This prestigious scholarship program is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and administered by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc, Bangalore). Scholarships are provided (up to the pre-Ph.D. level) to the selected students.

Speaking on the occasion, Vallish Herur, Director of BASE said, “The tradition of creating success in Karnataka continues this year too. We are happy that like every year, this time too many of our students have been selected for the KVPY exam. It’s a combined effort of both teachers and students’ altogether that we have such good results and will continue to strive harder.”
