Faridabad: National Handicapped Finance and development Corporation is inviting applications on behalf of Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry, Government of India from differently abled students to provide scholarships for the academic year 2013-14. The scheme provides scholarships to differently-abled students to pursue their education in various technical and professional courses and get better job opportunities. This scheme was introduced to enable differently-abled students who have to face many challenges such as financial, physical and mental to complete their education and find a dignified place in the society.

Scholarships for differently-abled persons from NHFDC are given for students who are eligible to study graduate and post graduate level professional and technical courses from recognized educational institutions. Number of scholarships provided under this scheme are 1500. Thirty percent of the scholarships are allotted fro girl students. If there are not enough girl eligible girl students, then they will be transferred to boys. Another 500 scholarships will be given from the national fund for differently-ale students
Applying for NHFDC Scholarships
Students who are eligible can apply for NHFDC scholarships at any time of the year. Applications have to be submitted on online at www.nhfdc.nic.in. Students whose annual parental income does not exceed Rs. 25,000 are eligible for these scholarships.
- Maintenance allowance of Rs. 2,500 per month will be paid for differently-abled students who are studying allowance professional graduate coursers. Rs, 3,000 will be paid for professional post graduate course students.
- Book/stationery allowance of Rs. 6,000 per annum will be paid for professional graduate courses. For professional post graduate course students, Rs. 10,000 will be paid per annum.
- For differently-able students, financial assistance will be given to purchase aids and appliances once in lifetime.
Students who are eligible for NHFDC scholarships can send their applications online through www.nhfdc.nic.in. the printed copy which is counter-signed has to be sent through the educational institution they are studying along with the necessary documents. The application has to be sent to National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation, Red Cross Bhavan, Sector-12, Faridabad – 121007.
