Chevening South Asia Journalism Program in UK

The Chevening South Asia Journalism Programme is an exclusive scholarship programme for high-flying, mid-career journalists. In its second year we are offering scholarships for 14 mid-career journalists from four South Asian countries. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office present this remarkable leadership course for future media leaders and opinion formers from India, Pakistan, Bhutan and Nepal. Entitled ‘Good governance in a changing world: challenges to the media, politics and accountability’, the course is organized by the prestigious Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Westminster, and will take place in London over eight weeks in April and May 2013.The programme will enable fourteen exceptional candidates from India, Pakistan, Bhutan and Nepal to be a part of an intensive learning experience that will sharpen thinking and leadership skills.
Eligibility: The South Asia Journalism Programme is open to Pakistani, Indian, Nepalese and Bhutanese nationals. All other scholarships are open to Indian nationals only.
-There is no age limit for Chevening scholars.
-Successful applicants should be mid-career, high-flyers.
-You should have the ‘Chevening’ qualities of drive, leadership potential, a commitment to change, talent for innovation and creativity, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.
-You should have the personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership
As part of the course, the scholars will also undergo a two-week internship with leading British media organizations.

DAAD PhD Scholarships in Geoinformatics in Germany
DAAD and Graduate School Scholarship Program (GSSP) funded PhD Scholarships for International Students in the field of Geoinformatics at Graduate School for Geoinformatics in Germany 2013

Course Level: This scholarship is available for pursuing PhD degree.
Eligibility:
-Applicants of non-German nationality
-Not living in Germany for more than fifteen months (reference date: February 1, 2013)
-Having finished Masters studies less than 3 years ago (in case of not yet having completed the Masters program, applying with a transcript of records with attended courses so far, the diploma must be provided before the start of the scholarship program)
-We particularly encourage applicants from developing and emerging countries.
Scholarship Description: The Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi) has been allocated two full PhD scholarships in the Graduate School for Geoinformatics. The scholarships are granted within the “Graduate School Scholarship Program” (GSSP) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Successful candidates will conduct their PhD according to the phases, milestones, and study program of the Graduate School for Geoinformatics including a 30 credit point course program and an external semester. If applicable, a German language course of 2-6 months will be funded before the start of the doctoral program.
Selection Criteria: The selection of the candidates will follow a performance-based procedure. The allocation of doctoral candidates to research fields and supervisors will be competitive in the Institute for Geoinformatics, i.e. the best applications fill the available spots. We target national as well as international holders of a Masters degree (or equivalent) related to GI. The field of Geographic Information is interdisciplinary, so previous Bachelor studies can be in GI or any GI application area, such as geography, ecology, transportation, agriculture, forestry, energy provision, computer science, geology, etc.

UOW and Bradman Foundation Scholarship for Indian Students in Australia

The University of Wollongong in partnership with the Bradman Foundation offers one undergraduate Scholarship to an Indian student each year. The Scholarship is granted for duration of their undergraduate program and at the end of each year, another scholar is chosen. The UOW Bradman Scholarship is tenable at the University of Wollongong. The Award is conditional upon the acceptance of the Scholar by UOW. The UOW Bradman Scholar is expected to be a full-time student.
Study Subjects: Courses offered by the university.
Course Level: This scholarship is available for pursuing undergraduate level.
Eligibility: -have passed their seventeenth birthday in the year of beginning the Scholarship;
-be an Indian citizen;
-have completed their secondary education at an Indian school to a level which will satisfy entrance
conditions to the course their choice at UOW;
-have a club to high level of participation in the sport of cricket

Weinstein International Fellowship to study dispute resolution in USA
JAMS Foundation is accepting applications for the Weinstein International Fellowship program from qualified individuals from outside the United States to study dispute resolution processes and practices in the U.S. in order to advance the resolution of disputes in their home countries.
The JAMS Foundation will approve Fellowships of up to $20,000 in support of projects outlined by Fellowship applicants. This Program is intended for individuals who have demonstrated experience with and commitment to the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and who seek to increase the availability of dispute resolution education, training and services in their own countries and beyond.
The Fellowship Program is designed to be flexible and open to innovation, and applicants are encouraged to be creative in pursuing activities in the U.S. that will serve to expand the use of ADR in their home countries.
Fellowships may be from one month to four months in duration. While applicants may propose activities lasting longer than four months, Fellowship funding is limited to the Fellowship period.
It is anticipated that Fellows will come from countries that do not have an established culture of using alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for cases in litigation. Part of Fellows’ time in the U.S. will be spent observing how JAMS administers and resolves such cases.
Criteria
Applicants may not be citizens of the United States.
Applicants must be fluent in English.
Proposed Fellowship must be one month to four months in duration.
Preference for proposals that would help establish viable dispute resolution systems or change how disputes are resolved.
Preference for applicants with experience as judges, lawyers, law professors, court administrators, government officers, or ADR practitioners.
Preference for applicants able to commence their Fellowship with the annual gathering of Fellows in the San Francisco Bay area in early September 2013.
Applications must be received by November 16, 2012 in order to be eligible for consideration, and may be submitted electronically or in hard copy.
