Number of Foreign Students Declining at Rajasthan Varsity: International

JAIPUR:

The number of foreign students coming to pursue higher studies at the Rajasthan University has been declining over the years. They are no more keen on studying here due poor quality of education with English as the medium.

So far, the RU had received 25 applications, mostly from Nepal and a few from Libya, France and Japan. Last year, there were 60 admissions of which 43 were sponsored by International Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). They were from Afghanistan. This year again, the ICCR will give 2,700 scholarships to foreign students in Indian universities across the country.

Of the total figure, the ICCR confirmed only 12 scholarship-based admissions in Rajasthan till date. They were at MNIT, Arya Poddar Management College and National Institute of Ayurveda. “Students already studying here have given poor feedback on the quality of education besides complaining that despite having filled for English medium during admission , they were taught in Hindi,” Anil Pawar , regional director, ICCR, said
