South Asian community leaders lobby for service access in Australia

With migration from South Asia to Australia continuing to increase, leaders from those communities are lobbying the government to improve employment opportunities and access to health services.

A new body has been formed to make those representations – the Sub-Continent Ministerial Consultative Committee. It’s chaired by four members of the Australian parliament, including the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Chris Bowen.

Three of the committee members join Connect Asia for a discussion about their respective community’s needs and priorities.
