Bhopal-based institute to train youths in UP: India

3,300 youths in 45 districts of Uttar Pradesh will soon receive skill-based training from Bhopal-based All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology(AISECT), an IT training and educational services company.

This comes in a follow up of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in May between AISECT and NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) for training of over 1.3 million youths across semi-urban and rural India by 2022, according to a press release here today.

The training will be imparted under phase I of the project, which is being implemented in nine States in India.

On the execution plans in UP, AISECT director Siddharth Chaturvedi said, “We plan to utilise our knowledge base – about 10 lakh students (trained by AISECT) and spread over 27 years – for this alliance with NSDC and would take up training, both in the organised and unorganised sectors, in the seven identified areas. After gauging the demands and needs of the students in the state, the courses will be offered to students with an assured placement service.”

AISECT’s skill development initiative will cater to NSDC-identified seven sectors including IT (information technology) and ITES (IT enabled services), electronics and hardware, banking and financial services, teacher and assessor training, textiles, organised retail and agri skills. Initially, AISECT’s focus would be on the IT and ITES sector, the release stated.

Gradually, the organisation will turn towards sectors like agriculture, organised retail and hardware.

The project will be initiated in 108 AISECT centres in the state.
