Training centres offer courses to aid unemployed : India

Warangal, Telangana :

A Koya girl, Easam Sirisha, always wanted to join service sector and help her parents financially, but she was not aware of various opportunities available to realise her dream. While enquiring about job opportunities in the city, a person from skill development department met her in her village Potlabhupathi in Kothaguda mandal in the district. He explained about the skill development programme being offered by the Union government.

Later, Sirisha got admission into general duty assistant course offered by Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra in the district. “Once I finish this course I would be eligible to join health sector where there is a lot of demand for people doing this course,” she said.
Like Sirisha, over 100 youth will be undergoing training in various skills at the youth training centre at Battupally village in Warangal Urban district, run by IL&FS Institute of Skills.
But to bring the youth to the training centre was not an easy task. Skill development coordinator Mohammed Abdul Rahat said, “I am happy that I could convince more number of girls to join.”
